The possibility of co-hosting academic conferences and seminars in the field of architecture featured prominently during the Italian Ambassador to Ghana’s maiden visit to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi.

Her Excellency Laura Ranalli, on her first official visit to Sub-Saharan Africa, praised the university’s serene environment, describing it as “an epitome of a temple of knowledge,” and expressed keen interest in strengthening academic and cultural ties between KNUST and Italian institutions.
She expressed her office’s interest in exploring possible areas of collaboration with KNUST.
She highlighted the potential for organizing joint events focused on international relations, as well as the prospect of co-hosting academic conferences and seminars in the field of architecture.
The Ambassador was accompanied by the Honorary Vice Consul of Italy, Mr. Stefano Ramella Pezza.

Welcoming the Ambassador, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson reiterated KNUST’s commitment to strengthening existing relationships with Italian institutions.
She noted that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between KNUST and some universities in Italy, originally signed in 2020 in the fields of Mathematics and Physics, has been renewed for another four years, from 2024 to 2028.
“As a university focused on global impact and academic excellence, KNUST is poised to enhance and expand its collaborations with the Embassy and institutions across Italy,” the Vice-Chancellor stated. “We look forward to building bridges by utilizing our rich e-learning resources, which will not only strengthen academic cooperation but also promote cultural exchange among our students and faculty.”
